Double DIN Stereo

Postby toobryant » Tue Aug 01, 2017 3:10 pm

I am wanting to install a double din stereo in my 1993 W250. It is an Ext. Cab, 4X4, automatic, LE. I know it has been done but I haven't seen any detailed pictures. If anybody has pictures or could point me in the right direction I would appreciate it.

I'm not exactly sure what double din is, but I know stereos up to '01 are plug and play. I have AM/FM/ Cassette / CD players in both my '92 and my'97.

Just enough power to break everything behind the crankshaft.

The factory radio is about 1.5 DIN you will need to cut the dash to fit a double din. The wiring is easy buy a harness and go.

I figured I would have to cut the dash a little. I just don't want it to look like a hack job. I wish I could find some decent examples of what it would look like. Thanks for the reply.

It is the size of the opening for the radio. The radio on my truck is approximately 1.5 DIN.

Here's a thread I found on a Google search:

Here's how I did one in my '98:

Don't laugh too hard. It was only temporary. Got to have some TUNES!
