Inexpensive gauge set - Just Race Parts, Glowshift?

Postby justin.loehlein » Sun Aug 20, 2017 2:08 pm

I started looking around for a multigauge for my Cummins. I don't want to have multiple gauges all over the place, so I started looking at the GlowShift 3 in 1 gauge. Anyone have any feedback on it? Looks like somewhat mixed reviews on Amazon.

In looking for other options, I stumbled across an Australian company called "Just Race Parts." They have a digital display that you can hook up to a controller for about the same price as the GlowShift gauge. Plus, it's got the ability to expand. I can't find anything in the way of reviews online - has anyone ever seen this? Feedback?

The glowshift aren't really good quality. It always seems to be hit or miss with them.

I have what? gauges in my 97. They were ok for a while, but then the trans temp started jumping, and a week later the pyro just died altogether. I think they are 5-6 years old. The good quality ones in the 92 truck have been in there for over 10 and still work flawlessly.

My 93 has all isspro and the oil and water temp has been messed up for years. I called Don Wendlic (sp) and he said I would have to buy both the sender and the gauge because they were a matched set. My point is I bought the good stuff and still got screwed. They are very twitchy sometimes jumping from 0 to max.

Richie are you sure they're grounded good? If they are for sure, get a hold of Michael Pliska from Isspro. He's the head engineer or manager or something and will take care of you. He sent me a new pyro for free after mine quit.

I've always had Isspro's and sold many Isspro's while I was at the shop. I never had a problem with mine and we had very few problems with them at the shop. When we did have a problem they always bent over backwards to make it right as fatty said.

My '98 had AutoMeter's in it when I bought it and my pyro goes crazy about once a month, the tranny temp gauge pegs out when I run through any deep water or snow, and the boost gauge "jumps" to 5psi instead of a smooth progression. After it gets to 5psi it's ok till it drops back to "0". Just sayin'.....

Good to hear all the feedback. Anyone running a multi-function gauge other than the GlowShift?

PToombs - what brand gauges are you running?

Autometer in the dodge.
The autometer diesel tachometer is 11/12 years old and the pyro, boost, trans temp are 8/9. The fuel psi gauge is around 5.

These are old now, like 8 years. The oil pressure was first to have a fit, then last year the water has issues sometimes. They don't both mess up at the same time so I suspect they are not the same issue. They had just gone off warranty when the oil pressure messed up. How old was your gauges when he replaced them???? I have isspro's in my 92 and 93 trucks and autometer's on the 89.

I have mostly DiPricol gauges, the white face red needle ones. My pyro and 30psi boost are the old style, and the fuel pressure and 60 psi boost are the newer Optix ones, they are LED. My trans temp gauge is an Isspro, because Dipricol went out of business or was going down and was bought by Isspro. I can't remember which.

I wish DiPricol was still in business, best looking gauges I think.

I have had Stewart Warner, Autometer, Glowsh!ts, and Isspro's. I prefer the Isspros.

Me too! :( I went with the Isspro because it matched the others the closest.
