Dash warning lights stay on

Postby Keith Anderson » Thu Feb 14, 2008 2:33 pm

I have a '90 D250. Recently the warning lights on the dashboard would not go off after starting the truck. Took the truck to real guru on 1st gens. After doing the usual electrical checks and finding no faults, he happened to notice the interior light above the rear cab window had a burned out bulb. He replaced the bulb and solved the waring light problem.

I would guess you have a bad ground somewhere. Electricity will go strange places when it's normal path is interrupted.

I vote for the bad ground too. The bulb out just made it obvious you have a problem. ;-)

Just enough power to break everything behind the crankshaft.

All the warning lights stayed on. The brake lite had been staying on intermittently, but would go off shortly after driving the truck, prior to the lites staying on all the time.............................................bluedodge
