How exactly do I gut the shutdown solenoid?

How exactly do I gut the shutdown solenoid?

There is a spring, sleeve and an o-ring in there. Everything comes out, right?
91.5, D250, getrag
91.5, D250, auto
84, D150 with 90 dodge/cummins drivetrain

Spring and plunger come out. O-ring stays. That's the seal to keep fuel inside. ;)

wat does this do any power gains or wat.... kinda new to the ve

Not much, if any. What happens is if you start pushing big fuel, you chip the rubber tip off the plunger. Most guys then pull the guts and use a cable to the lever on the side.
The other thing is, the solenoid goes bad, so you pull the guts and go cable.
