School me on non-ic'd speedos

Postby nooblet » Tue Oct 07, 2008 2:38 am

What is in between the adapter at the transfer case and the actual speedometer in my dash? My speedo has been acting crazy, bouncing all over the place. My thoughts are a bad ground, bare wires touching my transmission, the adapter at the t-case, or the actual speedo in the gauge cluster. What else could it be?

Also, can anyone explain why my speedo goes crazy while i'm at a dead stop ONLY when the truck is running, not just the ignition in the "on" position? Why would the truck running make a difference?

Thanks,
Chris

I'll take just about anything manual over electric, I hate wiring diagrams. But i got to work with what I have.

Don't know about the '90, but my 91.5 gets it's speedo signal through the PCM. I've been trying to figure out how to bypass that lately.
