well i just reinstalled the head and now when i turn the key it gives a few weak cranks and then clicks, or just clicks, i just put new batteries in today, do i need a new starter or is it something else? thanks guys

it could be. you could have a huge draw from the starter. check and see how much the starter is drawing while cranking and go from there.
