hard start to no start

first, i've been reading this site for bout a week, great stuff. Now the problem, truck started with a slow drag a week ago, lost regulator, replaced.Charged battery, then day later done same dragin start, changed ground cable, still bad start, then tonite, no start. just click click. battery checks at 12.56 volts. HELP

Have you load tested the battery? Sometimes they will have 12 volts just with no punch.

going to grab one tommorrow, one of the clicks is ac compressor clutch, this normal?

Not sure. Does it start fine if you charge the battery?? I mean does it crank right over?

just got thru giving the starter a GENTLE tap with a brass hammer, fired up like a new cummins! thanks for taking time for me richie o.

NO problem. Sounds like your starter is on the way out.
