Speedo prob??

My 91 has started doing something weird. You can sit in park and tap the fuel and the speedo jumps to 50 or 60 and goes haywire. Since this it does the same goin down the road at any speed. The odometer and trip quit working when this problem started also. Any suggestions?

Bad alternator intermitently going to ground?

Is anything else affected? Headlights dimming? Stereo static? Volt gauge jump? If so, KTA is probably right.

Everything else is 100% normal. ? Is the guage itself grounded to the dash frame?

i have had the exact same problem... i have come to the conclusion that its the wiring, cause i have checked everything else... i have replaced the guage (which was also broken) and the probe (which i cracked upon reinstallation)... so i know its got to be a bad connector/connection or wire... so when i put the new clutch in ill let you know, if you havent figured it out by then :lol: ;)

I know if I have issues with my 93's speedo the vss crap will be coming out and a 89 or lower speedo head will be going in with a cable. :evil:

Narrowed down the prob. Got ill, got under the truck unplugged the sensor blew it out and turned the sensor about 3 times clockwise one or the other made it stop jumping and acting weird but the odometer still dont work. :?

haha, is it a bad thing that your odometer works?? :lol: dont wana put miles on the truck :? but yah wana drive it! 8) 8) haha,

hmmm... well, i dont know that thats my problem though... its frustrating me :?
