Charging problem

Postby MudSlinger79 » Sun Apr 05, 2009 7:03 pm

Okay i cant get my truck to charge. I have bought 2 alts, a new external regulator and i cant get it to charge. The only thing i plan on trying tomorrow is running a wire strait from the battery to the regulator and see if that helps because right now im running it threw the chevy wiring. Any help would be appreciated thanks.

On that 79 the orginal wiring had one wire hot when the ignition switch was on. Take that to one field terminal. The regulator will go to the other field terminal. Make sure the regulator has a good ground.

If your using a aftermarket regulator take it back. Hit a junkyard and find an orginal Dodge regulator. Even a used one is better tham most aftermarkets ones are.
