light flicker??

Postby dodgethis91cmns » Mon Aug 24, 2009 7:42 pm

i just noticed this about 5 minutes ago when i pulled in my driveway. i pulled in and turned just my parking lights on so my headlights werent shinning in my windows and the parking lights keep my pyro still lit and i wanted to let it cool down a bit before i killed it. i looked out the windsheild and noticed my lights were kind of flickering a little bit. what would be causing this?? i was thinking something along the lines of a voltage regulator, but im not electrically savy so figured id turn to the pros

Could be the regulator. I have seen them do that before. Also a bad ground connection on the regulator will cause issues too. On my 89 it has a ground wire from the regulator directly to the negative post on the battery.

91 D350, nonIC. Brings back bad memories. One of the main reasons I sold my nonIC 91. In hindsight........ Anyway, that truck ate voltage regulators like a kid goes through candy on Halloween. I think I put 6 in one year. I finally relocated it, and it had the same reg in it for 6mo before I sold it.

Something ain't grounded right somewhere. Or something is grounding that shouldn't be. Might try looking for cooked wires...
