Window motor rebuild

Postby dpuckett » Sun Sep 27, 2009 11:27 am

Does anyone know of a place to get parts to rebuild the electric window motors? My passenger side motor has taken a union membership (works when it wants to, sits idly by the rest of the time), and I'd like to get it taken care of before it craps out on someone on a test drive.

Probably just the brushes. I just did my mothers Concorde, pulled the brushes from a parts jeep at my buddies. If you want, I can pull another motor from it and bring it with me.

the driver side motor gave me fits in my 91. turns out the connector was making an intermittent connection. i cut it out and hard wired it, problem solved.

you could also try slamming the door while holding the button down. it works alot of the time. it jars the motor. however, that type of repair could last a day, or forever. you never know.

Pete, go ahead and bring the other motor with you if you think of it.

OK. I'll try to pull it before I come out. Should only take about 1 minute, the door is stripped to the motor now. :D

Have fun getting the motor out of the dodge truck to replace it. Bring plenty of bandaids. :D

Not my problem. :D Unless DP tries to do it there.

You can change the brushes if you can pull the cover. Not sure if you can get to it in the truck though. I'm a manual window sorta guy.

I've taken the motors out of the truck before. And Richie- I have band-aids. I shoe horses, and those rasps are damn sharp out of the box. Even being careful draws blood the first 3 horses.
