Odometer/Tripometer dead

Anybody know where to get an aftermarket speedo that will work on a 92
d-250? My speedo works but the odometer is gone. Is it even worth while to try to find salvaged unit? I think you will eventually run into the same problem as this one. I hear a gps unit will work, but would rather have the meter.

sounds like you need the drive gear inside the cluster. its not a hard fix.i dont remember for sure where to get the parts, i think maybe philip knows. the gear is a bit pricey, but still cheaper than an aftermarket gauge.

Thanks..I saw some blogging about that the other day. Some one said everything went good until the 10th's counter went to 1, and then it quit. They thought maybe the gears stripped again. Plastic in this dash is soooo
fragile. Anyhow, maybe Philip will chime in..Thanks again

Apparently, you can also use the odo gears from '90's model Ram vans as well... Much cheaper than the other option.
