I've just replaced the ends several times.

I have had pretty good luck with getting copper ring terminals from Napa, putting them in ViceGrips, filling them full of solder, melting the solder with a torch and sticking the stripped cable end into the molten solder.

so i take it you replaced the battery. from a lead post style battery to a stud style like on a big truck battery. to be able to use the copper ring style terminal.

I had a truck that had some copper ends on the cables, then marine terminals on the battery. Wing nuts holds the ring on the battery, no more broken lead cable ends. Also makes adding accessories easier- undo the wing nut, add the ring from your wire, tighten wing nut.

I really like this idea, I have been thinking about doing this for a couple weeks now. Seems to me it would cure a lot of problems before they happen. :thumleft:
