I saw a post in the wanted section for a factory tach. Here's a sugestion I have. Dakota Digital makes a pretty reliable translator unit where you can run any gasser tach to it's output. I know OEM looks better but spending $300 imho is nuts. I did this on a GM diesel where there was no tach option for years.

Westach built me a tach that worked with the factory wiring about 7 or 8 years ago.
93 W350, ClubCab, AT, POD's(Delphi), pump tweaked, 4' exhaust (downpipe back), swap turbos occasionally: 12cm for light duty, 16cm for heavy (plain old H1C's) , Mag HT DD pan, etc.

MSD makes a new tach adapter now that can supposedly clamp over the factory tach wire and make a signal to run a gasser tach.http://msdignition.com/Products/Accesso ... ickup.aspx
It says to hook it to a diesel injector wire, but I wonder if it could run off of the alt?
92 w250, NV4500, D80, maxed pump, AFC gone, extended fuel screw, more to come.
