i have a 91 dodge my speedo and odometer doesnt work i have put a new vss. on and i still have nothing i tested the wires to the vss and i only have 1.5 volts there not sure wut the correct voltage is down to it is there something else i should be looking for?
the small shaft coming out of the vss. does spin while the truck is moving. these small plastic gears i hear about r these located in the tach its self? thanks for the help

The odometer is most likely due to broken plastic gears with in the guage cluster. They are relatively cheap to replace. Someone more knowledgable will probably chime in and tell you where you can find these replacement gears.

As for the speedometer, is the needle moving at all? If it is than you might just have a bad wiring connection somewhere between the VSS and the guage cluster.

What about the speedo adapter before the VSS. Those things have always been the trouble spot in my speedo systems with stripped out gears or worn out splines.
