Mine works most the time but blows the fuse alot, Im guessing I have a short either in the switch or the column.

I've had the clockspring go bad in a 92 and 93. You can check continuity through it with a multi-meter. Of course I'd check the easier stuff first, like the brake switch, clutch switch if manual and the fuse panel. Does the speedo work?

I have trouble with mine, just bought the truck. I tried the cruise, didn't work, flipped the accel/decel button a few times, it started to work, kicked off on the first hill, now cant get it to work again. Sure would be nice to have trouble shooting manual

My 93's didn't work when I bought the truck, but a few weeks later I tried it and it started working again. It's a random problem that I'm pretty certain is the clock spring.

The clock spring is in the steering column. It's what allows the wires to pass through the rotating area of the steering wheel. It requires pulling the steering wheel in order to change it and is a common failure in these older trucks.

No problem, any interest helps the cause. I wish we could get a wiring diagram posted, it would help knowing how the circuit is routed for troubleshooting. I checked my fuses and haven't got to pulling the wheel apart... I kind of thought the fues box is the worse design ever
