another charging issue topic

Postby moparman89 » Tue May 18, 2010 3:23 pm

OK..so I know there has been other threads on this, but I'm really not finding a answer...so heres my problem. Many of you may know that I have converted a 81 crew cab with a 92 cummins 5spd...so everything got tranferred over.

MY battery is not getting charged... First off I had the alternator tested and the battery...checked out fine, both are good and working.

So how Do I know if the crank sensor is bad or not?

My AC and the CC are not plug in...would this cause a problem?

I have read about installing a voltage regulator...DO I NEED SOME KIND of Relay? IF so exactly what do I need and how do I wire up the relay?

How do I know if the problem is in the PCM or not? If the problem is not in there will it hurt to hook up the external regulator?

Thanks

I am having a similar issue on my Crew cab swap. Maybe it's not ment to be. I think I need a PCM though.
78 D-200 Crew cab LWB converted to 4wd then converted to Diesel. 366 spring, custom pin, timing to head and pump tweaked.
75 W-100 SWB step side under construction. Soon to be 318 magnum/518 auto.
66 Charger 383/auto
71 Chrysler Newport hardtop 4dr. 360/727. Need drivers side body panels if ya got some.
