Need some help on finding grounds

Postby hp383 » Sun Jun 06, 2010 10:34 pm

I have a 93. Auto. 4x4

It has grounding issues that much I know. However I think it may have several.

The speedo will read and rack up miles just idling. The dash lights need a smack of encouragement to turn on most times. The fuel gauge reads totally erratic, sometimes steady bot not correct, other times it hangs out at either way full, or way empty. And my newest trick is the lights (all of them) now pulse when the truck is on and running. But burn steady when off and parked. Its sorta like a rolling strobe effect. I got a disco going down the road. The light pulse seems to be in time with the speedo pulse. The speedo will pulse in about a 20mph swing. Sometimes it hangs out around 30 to 50, other times it decides to head over to the 80 to 100 range.

Now while I don't mind driving a mobile rave lighting rig, I have a feeling that something just isn't right.

There are a few grounds.

There is the one by the battery on the raditor support.

There is another behind #6 valve cover on the fire wall.

The dash grounds are located behind the cargo light switch on the firewall side of the metal brace.

There is another ground down below the battery by the left head light. This is a PCM ground.
