need part number

Postby meby » Wed Jun 16, 2010 5:27 am

Does anyone have the part number for the adapter/vss so that I can get my speedo to read correctly now that I have the 3:07 axle under my truck?
Thanks,
Matt

Just get an adaptor that is the right ratio. I have posted the "precedure" for determining the ratio needed. That way, you wont get "close"- you'll get dead on accurate.

Not handy.

Plug your VSs directly into the speedo drive on the transmission. Run a known distance (i.e. 10mi down the interstate works well). Divide the number of miles driven by the number of miles showing, and that will tell you what ratio you need.

SPeedometer Service in Colorado Springs used to have good prices on adaptors.

Thanks, the gear came in this morning. All I have to do now is pick it up and put it in. :D

okay. Dodge messed up and gave me the wrong one. Anywho. 10 miles on the speedo is equal to 12.9 miles on my GPS. The orginal gear had 28 teeth, the one Dodge gave had 26 teeth. By my calculations the new gear should have 22 teeth.

Is my calculation right?
