custom gauge panel

Postby Gots_a_sol » Wed Aug 04, 2010 2:32 pm

I don't like the pillar pods, so I made up a panel to hold my gauges. Definitely not as elaborate as SOME people's panels, but it works

I made it to replace the info cluster/4wd indicator panel (which my truck just had a blank since its a 2wd)

so I 'found' this piece of 'material' to make a panel that fit in the stock information center

Image

So this 'material' looks like carbon fiber for some reason. hmmm, now where did he 'find' that you ask.

The hood off my del Sol. I couldn't give this damn thing away and its been in the shed for years. lol.

Image

Looking good, need to trim the bottom down a bit still though.

and I forgot to take a bunch of pics, so here are the almost finished pics. I still need to add the lights that replace the factory info center. (wait to start, abs, etc.)

I'll have to pick up some polish/cleaner and see if I can clean up the carbon fiber some. There isn't that much showing once its in the dash so meh.

Lights are in. I only needed 5, but it bothered me not having all the lights drilled/placed.

Only thing left to do is wire everything up.

Looks good. I have considered doing something real similar, but it's kinda low on the priority list. Nice to see 3 gauges will fit nicely.

Leave it to Pete to notice something off- topic. At least it wasnt about whale reproduction this time

I snopes that whale thing, it was a fake. That was a female and those were intestines. As for the rest, how can you measure that? Who's gonna hold a 500 gallon container under there and catch it?
By the way, you guys will really like what I sent tonight!

Ok, back on topic, and I noticed that it was Puckett that smutted it up this time!
