Hey guys!, I have an odd electrical issue on my pickup that I have been looking at for a while now, my fuel gauge and my oil pressure gauges don't work. I have grounded the gauge and it works, I have swapped sending units on the tank and nothing gets the gauge to read past empty unless I ground it out. I have also switched out the whole gauge cluster and it didn't change anything. there is no voltage according to a test light anywhere but when you use a multimeter, if I remember right, there was like 2 or 3 volts up at the plugs that go down to the sending unit.

Another thing I did was cut all the wires (behind the pigtail that goes to the sending unit) that used to run my tail lights and whatnots. tried grounding all of those wires to see if maybe one was spose to be a ground for the sender but no luck....

Im stumped and tired of electrical,

Sounds like a bad ground someplace.

Anyideas on the ground thing? Core support, behind the head, on the driver side fender, one somewhere on the back half of the frame

Well I looked at the ground on the radio and it was off, so thanks for that lol, but I finally figured outthe problem with myfuel gauge, I just cut the ground wire at the tank and spliced in another and ran out to the frame and boom, now I got half a tank 8)
I'm assuming I'll have to do the same thing with my oil pressure gauge

The oil pressure sender itself may be bad, It's a common thing with these trucks. 1st look and see if it's leaking, unplug it and look in the terminal. If it's oily replace the sender, or just replace it anyways and see if that fixes it.

I probably will replace it first, wasn't nearly as upset that the oil pressure gauge didnt work as I was about the fuel gauge lol
anyone have any good experience with oil pressure sensors? Last one i bought from napa a couple years ago leaked from the plug within a week

P.S. i hate my body guy and dont wanna talk about that
I spose i could get a video of it running to at least prove it runs tho 8)

You're not alone, lots of guys have a "friend" that does body work, or drop off their truck and say "do it in your spare time", and never see it again. I've come to the conclusion that it's either pay the money to get it done or do it yourself. Any thing else and the truck is cobbed or never gets done.
