Ignition and door locks

Postby slow_90firebird » Sat Jan 08, 2011 7:32 pm

Hey just found out my dad threw out the key to my truck cause he didnt know what it was. Well it was the only good key I had it was from 93 and never used regularly. The key in my pocket is the one that was used for all 245k miles, and its so worn its sloppy in the ignition and doesent want to unlock the doors if I lock them.

Im not even gonna try having them cut me one using the worn one as a template, no point.

I found these online. Only place I found that had a same key for ignition and doors. But its listed under ramcharger only. Is there any reason it wouldnt work on a diesel?

Also how hard it it to change the ignition lock cyl on these trucks?

Thanks

On my 91.5 it had the tamper proof star head screws, but i used a scratch awl and knocked the tits out of the middle so I could ues a regular star screwdriver.
