My grill is cracked up so I just threw some $1/can spray paint and some masking tape at it to see if I would like it. I would definitely find a grill that doesn't have the chrome stuff on it to paint as it is peeling off (it was peeling prior to me painting it, just old age I guess)

The low dollar work trucks had a silver grill, not chrome. That would probably work best. Although I do like the look of just the chrome center as posted above. I've been thinking about a black chrome paint I saw recently.

Gots_a_sol, I love that! I was wondering how it would look but didn't have the guts to do it. Now I will be doing it. 8)

The paint I used was just cheap, crappy 99 cent spray paint from home depot

If I was doing it for a permanent thing I'd pick something else, maybe Krylon Fusion for plastic?

There is an Adhesion promoter called Bulldog that works really well a helping paint stick to plastic and chrome. You can pick it up at Walmart or O'Reillys

I think that its pretty sweet when guys paint their grill to match their truck but I was toying with the idea of just painting my grill inserts to match the truck, any thoughts, suggestions?

i think if you paint the grill black and the inserts whatever color you want then it would look good but idk about the chrome

I saw a 93 cummins lime green, had chrome grill, with lime green inserts and bezels, I didn't care for the bezels; but the inserts looked real mean, i will have to try it out
