you can use glass beads and it won't warp it, if you stay back it will be fine.

we have a sandblast room where i work that you can drive a car in, and i have
done a 69 camaro, many many tractor panels, lots of hoods and truck beds, just
can't be stupid and use some common sence, heat warps metal, don't get it hot.

glass beads are the way to go, soda blasting is good too.

Have you used walnut shells before?

i have not, so i can't give any personal feedback, but i have heard of it before in the high
dollar auto restoration world, i think it is also good.

i do know it leaves a small amount of walnut oil on the metal.

i think the oil it leaves behind keeps surface rust from starting on long term restorations, so it's kind-of-a
plus, but it needs to be romoved before any primer goes on.

That was my thought process. I've sand blasted alot of tractor sheet metal and I don't recall any warping. Granted, it's thicker than truck sheet metal usually, but still I feel fairly safe.

Hansen (or anyone else), what did you use for the paint stripper? Aircraft remover? I had some stuff that would bubble the top coat almost instantly, but wouldn't do much of anything to the primer. Also did you spray it on with a gun, aerosol can, wipe it on, brush it on?

I used the air craft stuff and the cheaper bomgarrs stuff depending on the paint quality. Sometimes it took the primer right off, and other times it didn't, sooo.. idk
And carefull when you get that siht on your hands ;)
Oh, and it was all in a aerosol can already
