Mirror bezel plastichrome repair

Postby Begle1 » Tue May 03, 2011 2:29 pm

How do I fix the blistered-up plastichrome that's on every mirror bezel that I can find?

I tried peeling it off and painting it, but the color was obviously never going to match and the spray paint I used didn't want to stay on the plastic. Could I get the mirror pieces electroplated somehow get them covered with something that won't look like crap?

MIRROR HOUSING (EXTERNAL)

I have NOT done any business with them. I think they were advertised on Spike TV's Powerblock. It's a shame. A set of NEW GM truck mirrors can be had for a little under a hundred bucks with shipping the last time I checked:

If you are wanting to paint plastic then you have to use an adhesion promoter. Walmart use to carry some called bulldog that worked well, but I don't know if they still have it. I believe Oreilly's has it.
