Time for a heater core???

Postby oldestof11 » Wed Sep 21, 2011 1:30 pm

So I thought I smelled something sweet the other day and saw a small, 3" puddle just inside and behind the passenger tire today. I popped the hood and saw this:

Now, nothing inside is went from what I can tell (no carpet...) and nothing in front of the downpipe is wet. The engine is clean and dry. The hose I posted was hit from the "underside" with a few drops, but not soaked like it had split. Hoses behind the heater shut off thingy look dry too. Check radiator, full of nice green fluid. Check overflow bottle, nice thick layer of oil... :o Check oil, nice and clean, no funny smells, dark copper color.

What do you all think?

I'd get a coolant system pressure tester and pump up your system to 17 or 18 pounds and let it set. I'd be willing to bet you'll find it in short order.
Oil in the puke tank :yuck:
