Carpet...

Postby oldestof11 » Mon Nov 07, 2011 8:40 pm

What does everyone do for carpet in their trucks? Mine never had any and I just laid down some sound deadening/vapor barrier that I got for free from my parents.

I don't know whether to get a section and be consumed with cutting and tucking or pay for a pre-molded one around $180 for a carpet install with "kit".

What do you guys do?

Carpet is for caddys, get some vinyl in that hog.

Then if the old lady spills her Wendy's frosty you can just hose it out the next day. 8)

I have two pieces of scrap carpet left over from my living room tossed in on the bare steel floor. When the truck needs cleaning I just pull them out and give the cab a good blow job with the leaf blower.....

love the vinyl idea! wish everything i have had vinyl. I pulled mine and soaked it in purple power, scrubbed it, and pressure washed the hell outta it! Looked like new carpet only faded lol. while i had my carpet out i sanded/grinded and painted my cab floor.

The carpet kits I was looking at, were actually cheaper than the vinyl.

I have some old carpet from my house I'll probably throw in for now. Get it ruined at the farm, oh well. It was a freebie. ;)

Somewhere i saw a guy use stall mats for horses. He took the time to cut it and get it to fit right so it looked good and you could still hose it out. I would also imagine it soaks up some noise too

I'll second that you can get a really nice vinyl or carpet kit on rockauto.com. I have one sitting in my downstairs bedroom waiting to be installed once I fix the last of my door seals (also from rockauto).
