There's a LOT of extra work done in that write-up.

I've done a BUNCH of these and all you NEED to do is LOOSEN the steering column and REMOVE the bolt from the far right side dash support and the nuts from the brace to the firewall.
Prior to that, though, you need to remove the heater box covers, mounting nuts, coolant lines, A/C lines, vacuum lines under the dash, the floor vent covers and all the other small items.

When it comes down to removing the box, drop it down to the trans hump and roll it 1/4 turn CLOCKWISE, then slightly flex the dash up and worm it out from under the structure.

There is really no reason to have to remove the gauge cluster, since there's a splice connector for the vacuum lines that can be removed after you drop the box to the floor.

Mark, clockwise from which end? The right side should go down? Or do you mean roll it? I found that statement to be confusing, as there isn't enough room to roll it clockwise a 1/4 turn, looking at it from the seat, which is how I took your statement. :?

Just enough power to break everything behind the crankshaft.

Standing at the passenger's door entrance, looking under the dash, it rolls CLOCKWISE.
It ends up clearing the thinnest point of the heater box.
