whats a good seam filler

I need to reseal the raingutter and the seam were the roof meets the metal above the backglass. What's a good choice of filler to use.(I plan on painting over it)

3M is what my body man brother-in-law uses.

Most paint shops carry the 3M brushable seam sealer which is $30/qt or you can get a tube for a caulk gun for around $15

In 2011 I had a good local body shop repair my cab roof and drip rail. He used a 2-part epoxy product from Rubber Seal (a division of Teknol) called Self Leveling Seam Sealer MRS-7204. It's the OEM product nowadays on a number of Ford products.

It certainly looks a lot smoother than the OEM Mopar stuff from 1993; chemical engineering has come a long way since then.
