Custom 1st gen gauge pods

Postby Bschwarzli » Mon May 14, 2012 2:54 pm

Have I ever mentioned I like gauges? :D

Well, I needed two more. I added fuel PSI and oil temp.

So that now created an issue for the 1990. Where to put them. This is what the truck looked like before:

Sooooo, out things came....

Then the pod mods came. First off the third gen roof pod. The 3 pod was modified last time. The 4 pod (also a 3rd gen unit) here is untouched and gives you an idea of how much cuttings needed.

Next, A pillar pod. It is a 86-93 Autometer unit. I picked up a second one for the crew so one is untouched and the other is hacked. Gives you an idea of the amount of cutting.

And the result!

Robert, what holds the pod on the ceiling?

Pete

LOL.

And I drilled 4 holes into the bottom of the pod, and tapped the inner roof pan. Then placed cup washers on the screws and budda bing!

Dazed

I will see what I can do on that.

Ike:

LOL. Thanks.

Eric

Oh yes! The project truck has 24 gauges. The 1990 is only at 13. I have a ways to go before that happens.

Pete

Advantage of being single. :D

It would've been through autometer.
