Haha get ready to hate body work if you're going to do it yourself. I generally play by the rules and keep the same paint color from the factory because then everything is correct on the title when and if you choose to sell. What color is it now? Overall, it's an your opinion that matters most because you have to drive it everyday and not me

Having the color changed on the title isnt a big deal, at least not here in ky.

I've never tried it and I doubt the BMV is alert enough to know the difference. I've just been told to stick to the factory color

All ive had to do is tell the girl at the courthouse i painted it a different color. Sometimes the sheriff will inspect it but only once had that happen.

The only thing worse than repainting the truck is painting it a completely different color than factory, nothing like opening the hood of a blue truck and seeing the original red paint

I will repaint my 92 only two colors, the factory burgundy color, or the newer brown-grayish color that comes on 4th gens. If I go with the latter, the whole truck is going to be stripped down to nothing, all sheet metal taken apart and painted, inside and out, so it will look proper ;)
