DOOR SWAPPING

Postby BEARKILLER » Wed Oct 10, 2007 1:19 am

I have a good pair of doors to swap onto a truck with rusty doors.

The truck currently has crank-up windows.

The good doors have stupid electric windows.

I want to keep the crank windows.

How do I go about swapping the crank window guts into the electric window doors ??

Thanks.

Pull the door trim, then replace the entire mechanical requlator assembly with the power one.

yep it's that easy. drill the rivets from the power regulator and re-rivet (or bolt) the manual regulator in. just swap the door panels from the manual doors and the spindle for the window crank will be right where its supposed to be.

a good thing is you can keep the power locks and hook up some keyless entry. i'm not a big fan of electronic gadgets but it sure is nice to unlock the door from 20' away when its pouring down raining.

You can simply unplug the wires at the various connectors inside the door and let them hang. No problem.
PM me if you'd like to put a sale price on the power actuators and motors.

You do realize we've got the coolest power windows ever right?? Every first gen I've had is incredibly fast. Everybody that rides with me comments: "Those are the fastest windows I've ever seen"
