Door Swap

Well, I had to change out the drivers side door on the truck today, and it didnt go as planned. The truck is an 84 D150, and the replacement door was off of an 86. FYI, the door latch and strikers are different! The one on the 86 door is just about shot, with no replacement in site! I will be at the dealership to see if I can locate on in the morning. The striker is smaller, and I had to special order it from Orielly as nobody local had a replacement! Well, if the parts don't come tomorrow morning, I guess I will be holding the door closed with a bungee cord!

All you would of had to do is change out the Pin that the latch hook's on then it would work

Yes, I did this and the door latch in the 86 door was shot. Its different then the one in the 84 door, so I had to search 3 junkyeards to find a replacement as a new unit is $150!
