Looking for drivers side door latch help!

The drivers side door latch that on the door that I just put on the truck is having issues! The issue is that when the door is locked or unlocked with the key, it will not open from the outside, but only from the inside. I used all of the rods from the 86 latch so I know they are correct, but did use the key cylinder from the 84, but they look exactly the same so I don't think that is the issue. I found one at the junkyard, but didn't have the T-30 on me to pull it, plus thats a gamble as well as I have no idea how this one will react as well. The dealership has one in stock....for $140!!! I don't think its worth that much and would rather spend the money on the AC and brakes! Any ideas? BTW, I have already hit it with lube several times as well.
