weak door skins

does anyone know how to beef up the door skins, i have good doors but they are flimsy

All new car nowadays have really thin material. You lean up against one and you hear "boom bimp". If you hear to boom but not the bimp, you have a dent!

well around the handle it likes to move and on my 90 it wasn't that weak and where the window disappeares the skins will clap together when u close it

I've seen my 93 do that,thats why I close the door by pushing on the area around the lock.

I've seen a thread over on DTR about how to beef up the doors. I haven't tried it.

Well, since the door panel is bolted to the inner door then any strengthening there will help out the panel. ;)

This page shows the handle reinforcements and he posted the beam reinforcement on the inside on a prior page. The lower hinge reinforcement in is there too.

If you are simply trying to reduce sound from outside, sound deadeners may do the job. There are aluminum backed ones that help control road noise.

no i was trying to fix how the doors are so flimsy and prevent my doors from cracking like my other dodge

i finally got around to welding some braces on the inside of my doors, just used some square tubing going across and a lil flat iron goin up and down, now theyre nice and solid like the old chevy doors
