I have buckets with a flip-down center console from an early 2nd gen in my regular cab truck. The seats fit fairly well, except for the center console. When the console is up, the lid hits the metal lip below the window, and rubs. The center backrest is almost completely upright, and you can sit on it without any greater discomfort than was originally intended, but I need to put a towel behind it to prevent scuffing and squeaking. There is a little less room behind the seats than with an original bench, but it is easier to get to, since you can fold the back of each bucket individually.

I have some out of the new 2nd gens with all of the problems that the previous guy said. Plus if your tall you may need to cut the seat brackets or your head and knees will hit stuff. Also have to drill new holes and make a spacer for the back bracket, not Tough and overall much better than the bench in my oppinion

I have the 2nd gen seats in a regular cab, the center flips up plenty far enough to seat 3. I haul my kids in booster seats all the time also.

I have second gen seats out of an extended cab in my truck, it took a little chop, chop, weld, weld, but their in there.. however if you don't like your head in the ceiling these aren't the seats for you haha

Mine aren't too high. I cut 1 inch out of the front of stock bench bases and welded them back together and it sits nice. A little higher, and not leaning back like they would have been.

i have second gen seats with the center console in mine as well. the PO put them in and i'm pretty sure they are stock height. i'm 6' and have plenty of room between my head and the ceiling. these are pretty big cabs!

How about putting 2nd gen ext cab rear seat in ext cab 1st Gen I've seen done pics of this and it looks cool but I wonder how functional it is?

It's really tight back there, not much leg room. I was going to go that route, but with the bottom of the 2nd gen Dodge rear seats being 20" deep, there would be only inches between the front of the rear seat and the backs of the front...

now I'm interested in this!I'm 6'6" and have a set of 98.5 bucket seats to put in my regular cab. sounds like i need to shorten them at least an inch or so? Old 1st Gen, how much room between your head and the liner?
