MEGA Cab fenders?

Postby burningcoal » Fri Mar 15, 2013 8:42 pm

Has anyone used mega cab fenders on 1st gen body? I plan on it with a little trimming to make them fit. If so, any pointers?

Dually fenders, I'm guessing? May look a bit out of place, but should be doable. Easier to find in good shape, I would think.....

Thanks for the reply! Your correct they are a lot easier to locate in good shape. Still expensive. When I get time I'll mock them up to see if they will work, and if they look right i'll post pics. I hate working nights!

If you're worried about 1stgen fenders, there are numerous sets of used ones around, plus there is also someone on, I believe, DTR selling new ones.
Why ugly up a 1st gen anymore than you have to?

I havnt been able to get any measurments but it looks like putting the mega cab dually fenders on a 1st gen will be a lot of work. I'm in the process of researching doing a dually swap on my 1st genand have contemplated this idea. It seems like the biggest hurdle of doing the swap is finding the 1st gen fenders at a decent price, and on top of that im trying to do it with a single wheel bed. Arrowcraft makes the fenders for a single wheel bed but they dont list a price so im scared to email and find out.

Call Arrowcraft, you might be surprised.
Otherwise some members here have OEM beds and/or fenders they'd probably sell. ;)
All you need is access to the parts section and PM.
Or check on other forums, like DTR and CompD.

I will call them in a few days to see but i would rather buy from someone on the site if there are some and the price is right. I guess the biggest problem is fitting the fenders to a non dually bed, lots of cutting lol. As soon as i get to where i can get in the classifieds ill start searching and see what i can come up with. Thanks!

When I called arrowcraft about 6 years ago, the fenders were $400/pr. If I were tonvert again, id probably got that way unless I found a color matched bed.

I could deal with the $400 to $500 range and i like the fact that they fit a single wheel bed. I'm painting mine anyway so if i could find a good dually bed for a decent price i would go that route. Sure would be nice to find a whole dualy truck with no motor cause i need other parts while im dong this.

Like I said earlier, there are certain people here who are on other forums that can certainly get you into what you want, likely at a price you can live with.
Personally, I go by the same name everywhere, but some on here are different on other forums.

I'd try asking on Dieselbombers or DTR, myself. ;)
