Well the problem with the spray grease is that it doesn't stay liquid. With Oillite bronze bushings you need a liquid to get through the pores. This process takes some time. The spray grease is solid before you know it.

Good point, I have experienced this before spraying liquid grease.
I will try the plain motor oil, and apply it more frequently.
Seems like the trick is to get some kind of lube in there and make it last and stay put.
Maybe a zerk fitting taped in the center of the hindge and force it out the ends, if there is room for a zerk fitting. Hmmmm got to be a way.

You could put a grease fitting there but honestly just a squirt of motor oil when you see it not as wet and that bushing will last years. When it wears out its just another $0.50 bushing and your door is back to being tight as new. No real reason to overengineer the part other than if you really want to.

Greenleaf updated his hinges, he took some 3/8 pipe and welded it in, then put in a grease fitting and used a 3/8ths bolt for the pin. I'm pretty sure there's a thread on it here someplace.

Just enough power to break everything behind the crankshaft.

Now steel on steel with grease would be unbeatable! But unfortunately I have the standard bronze bushing.
