Lets see who can notice the difference...

Yes, they are 3rd Gen wheels. Cooper Discoverer ATP's in the 265/70/17 flavor.

Got the 2" wheel spacers custom made from US Wheel Adapters:
https://www.uswheeladapters.com/

The 1991 Dodge uses 8 on 6.5 with 1/2" lug studs, and the 3rd Gen uses 8 on 6.5 with 9/16 lug studs, and I was worried that any normal 2" spacer would have the 1/2" lug nut too far down in the taper to provide a good grip. So I had these made for this application with a price tag of $380 for all 4 shipped to my door (Hol-Y-SHIT).
They had one spot with some raised metal due to shipping, ground that flat. If I were designing them, I probably would have left a little more meat in some places and had less lug stud sticking out, but overall, they looked pretty good. They were supplied with the 1/2" lug nuts for mounting the spacer to the hub, about the cheapest quality lug nut I've ever seen. My trailer came with better lug nuts. I'm not 100% sold that I couldn't have just bought normal $60ea wheel spacers and been just as disappointed in the quality, but as long as the damn things dont come off, I'll call it a success.

Some tech:
The 1st Gen wheels are backspaced difference than the 3rd gen wheel, so the 2" adapter works great to change the lug studs, and to put the WMS at the appropriate distance.

Still need to bore out the center caps for the front manual locking hubs, but that will have to wait till tomorrow.

Vurry nice. 8)

I looked all over for a set of those before I found my wheels, I'm jealous. After having 10" wide wheels I do wish those were wider, but they're still one of the best looking wheels available.

I also got 1 1/2" front and 2" rear spacers on mine, gets rid of the stagger the stock rearends have.

Looks good. I'd like to get a set of 2nd gen alloys though.

You know what else would be cool is the 3rd gen steelies with the hubcaps. Have you seen those?

I am running the same on my 91, the lug nuts that come with those spacers are plain junk. I ended up buying some nice open-ended 9/16" nuts with a 3/4" head on them so I could get a normal socket into the bores. I had already converted the 1/2" studs up to 9/16" studs.

Head, I had a set of those 2nd gen aluminums, got rid of them because they wouldn't "fit" and I didnt even think of spacers  Haven't seen anyone with 3rd gen steelies though...

Anyways, looks good :thumright:

RC, its Dorman 610-283. As for lug nuts, I used a set of 2nd gen lug nuts I had laying around. I have converted two trucks using those Dorman studs and they work great. Word of caution, I wouldn't buy them from your local parts store unless you got some special way of getting them cheap, as they are a dollar or two more expensive per stud. Fleabay is probably the best place that I have found.

You're welcome. It's a worth while upgrade, as the larger, longer studs work well with aluminum wheels and spacers, there is more thread engagement than with the smaller, shorter 1/2" studs. Also, another note: if the studs are upgraded to 9/16", and spacers are used, the nuts that come with the spacers are almost impossible to use (the ones that came with mine), they are too large to fit in the bore, I went through two sockets and ended up having to drill and chisel one nut off, tough to do when there isn't much room to work with. The solution: buy 3/4" hex head, open end 9/16" lug nuts (found them on fleabay). They work well, and a 3/4" impact socket will fit down the spacer bores with room to spare.

I can't decide if I like the 2nd gen or 3rd gen wheels better, I really like both.
