Postby casej21 » Thu Aug 01, 2013 1:22 am

So i was at my local 6 states earlier waiting for some parts and found these! There made by truck lite and replace h6054. They are a glass housing and come with the bulb for around $45 each. Part number TL27009 . Guy behind the counter says there bright and has had some happy customers with them. Any body tried them out?

I have those same lenses and bulbs in my truck. They are way better than the sealed beam stock style bulbs. Worth the money for sure!

I may have to invest in those.

Topgearauto.com has a variety of headlights. Some with the funny looking halos and leds. I'm thinking of getting a pair (not with the halos or leds tho) to try them out.

yea I would like to upgrade from stock. tried a set of 20 dollar plastic h4 housings and hid lights. they were bright but scattered all to hell. every body i passed flashed me. they lasted about a week. I have been talking to Daniel Stern at danielsternlighting.com and he recommends cibie housings, his relay parts kit(u add your own wire)and Narva 100/55w bulbs. Probably about $275 - $300 all said and done. Just a little bit more expensive then the truck-lites.

You guys may want to try putting your stockers on relays before you go spending $XX.XX on HIDs or whatever. A set of $3 relays will completely wake your lights up. Even better if you get some better light sockets and replace the world's smallest ground wire they come with factory.

Do the relays really make THAT much of a difference?

I might just have to finally do it. My headlights weren't that bad until I replaced them..........apparently I had good ones in, because these suck.

Rc..what kind of light did you install? I went from regular old sealed beams to some silverstar halogens and my lights were kinda dim to me,for the price of the bulb. It wasn't till I started frying light switches that I installed the relays. That's when the light output started getting where it should be.
Look bottom line, those tiny tot wires can't supply enough power to any sure enough headlights. All you'll end up with is heat from the switch, and a melted switch plug/switch pins.

After driving 60miles with fog lights in the middle of the night I did it

I relayed mine and biggie sized the ground wire. I was going to go with the HID conversion, but after reading about them and the poor quality transformers they come with I decided to try the relays and see what happens. Wow! Way better than stock.

A buddy of mine had some trucklites, and a set of HIDs sitting around so I got em cheap and threw them in my truck. The housing may not be trucklite, I'd have to confirm that, but I can say they are bright as hell and have been in there since the winter.
