Tail Gate "Badge"

Postby 89dudney » Tue Oct 29, 2013 9:03 am

Does anyone have any tips or tricks to removing the dodge tail gate cover without totally molesting it? The local scrap yard is cuttin me a sweet deal on one if i can remove it with no damage. And it is in really good shape.

What year? If it's the 91-93, it unscrews from the back side. If its the pre-90 stuff, I can't help ya there...

Yup, there are two rows of screws across the back of the tailgate. I believe that they are T25 Torx or something of the like...

Went back and looked at it, it does have the screws and it is a T25 I think. Im thinkin dad needs it on the back of his red truck. Now how does a guy go about mounting and drilling new holes on the new tailgate?

With a drill duh!

Measure the old tailgate for hole placement. Or measure the studs and transfer that over. You could fudge the holes on the outside a bit since theyll be covered up anyway.
