ECSB W250 Conversion

Postby apaches64 » Mon Dec 23, 2013 4:49 pm

Well gang, I am about to embark upon a project that will involve taking a to trucks to make the desired truck. Truck #1 a RCLB LE 91 w250, nv 4500, ddisk 13in val air, hydros, np205, with he 351 vgt, maxxed out ve, M&H timing, M&H pin stage 5, and injectors. Truck #2 is a ECLB 92 w250, 360 v8, auto, base model.

I was wondering if anyone knows of any problems with taking truck # 2's body and putting it on #1. Will I have a time redoing the wiring, or will it be plug and play for the most part.

If there are some pics from an active project, id love to see them

Cheers,

Sam

You'll need to swap the harness', the gasser ones won't work for the diesel.

Just enough power to break everything behind the crankshaft.

Thanks. Do you know where you can buy a new harness?

Not off the top of my head, watch the classifieds on the diesel sites and see what comes up. Is the one in the '91 all messed up? Swap that one in.

Just swap harnesses but I can see a lot of cab modifications to make it fit that reg. Cab frame and even then I think you will still have to modify a bed to make it work.

If you can weld and operate a tape measure, chop out a section of frame of the eclb truck. In my mind it was the easier route :D

I believe the rclb wheelbase is 1-2" off.

Well,
I have taken the cab, and bed off of the diesel. I am now finishing a few odds and ends on the transmission, and will be doing a few things to the engine while I have the cab off of the truck.

I know the wheelbase is shorter on a rclb than a eclb by 2". Also the the wiring harness for the brakes, and speedo- tcase is going to be the same if I am not mistaken. Ill try to get some pics up here soon. Any wisdom, or input is always welcome.

The frame chop, and R&R of all the components seems like a waste of time in my own opinion for the eclb. I am going to save that frame for a CCSB conversion in the future.

Cheers!
