I know Ramsey and Warn both used to make winch bumpers. Niether were cheap and if you don't have a winch, they look naked. Your best bet is to get a local fabricator to build what you want.

well any ideas on the compatibility of an early 80's chev or maybe a ford bumper to being able to be bolted up or mounts modified to work?

According to the warn book at work, the bumper was the same. Its the mounts that were different. I'm sure its nothing that can't be solved though.

My solution...

Postby MikeThomas » Tue Jan 08, 2008 11:40 pm

Problem is that the aftermarket never makes something I like, so its better for me to make something...this is a link to what I'm up to...I have a buddy with a CNC plasma table.

Mike that looks good! I've also got a friend with a CNC table, can I use your design?

I've yet to see an aftermarket 1st gen bumper I really like; the only good ones have been homemade. There are a couple of tube bumpers I've seen on these that look pretty good, too.

True, buckstop makes a nice bumper, but it darn well better be nice at $1500. I buy running CTD's for that much! I decided to do my own, cause its cheaper, stronger and frankly, I like having dirty hands rather than an empty wallet! ;)

This is how mine is shaping up.

one exactly like this will cost you 1200 plus shipping.....that was quoted to me from AliArc in december, WWW.ALIARC.COM , the guy that owns that truck in the picture hit a deer at 65 MPH, ruined the bumper but saved the truck......all it needed was like 1 fender and the grille.......
