Small pond on floor

Postby matthewh » Fri May 02, 2014 8:55 am

While doing a pre trip inspection, I noticed the pass side floor mat was floating. The carpet was completely saturated, with standing water. I've read about the driver side issue with the floor/kickpanel vent, but not sure why the pass side is wet. Its water, not coolant.

Truck does have cab lights, so I thought maybe one of them is leaking, cause when I park on a slight hill, water is draining from the pass side rocker, i believe.

I guess what's the best fix to prevent this again. Probably have to pull the carpet and make sure the pans aren't starting to rust

Thanks

Check all cab lights, drip rail and around windshield. My old cab leaked everywhere

What did you use to seal everything up? Is there a weather resistant body caulk or sealant that would be good for this?

Just rolled into the driveway after all day on the road, I'll look at the drip rails and above window in the am

I swapped cabs but dig out all the old seam seal in the rain gutter and redo it. It comes in a caulk tube or little squeeze bottles. The cowl could have cracks in it too allowing some water in.

That and the bottom of the cowl is full of debris, so it just funnels rain water in.

I had a chance to go over it, the rain gutter sealer is cracked, and rust bleed is starting to show, as well noticed some surface rust above the window starting. I have to pull the valance piece to check the bottom of the cowl yet, been busy with work and the replica MRAP in helping my buddy build.
lucky the rainy season is short round here
