Running Boards?

Postby BHiggins » Mon Jan 28, 2008 4:57 pm

1st post here, I got tired of the "other site".
With that said, I'm thinking of putting running boards on my '92. I just had it painted, and got rid of some pretty ugly nerf bar/steps in the process. I've done the usual searching: JC Whitney, EBay, Google etc but I can't find any extruded aluminum or diamond plate running boards for a 1st gen with an extended cab that also have the bed boards. I would REALLY like black ones, but I could live with brite. Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Brian.

Scroll down this same section and look for the post by MMiller. He was asking the same thing a while back.

If you like the stull boards in that thread. I have as pair of the dually boards you could have for shipping. These are new in box. No mounting kit. This is the orginal style boards not the tapered ones.

I am keeping the cab boards for my truck. I have a flatbed now so I don't need the dually boards.

Thanks for the offer, but I really want the black anodized ones. I know DeeZee used to make them, but not anymore. I'm going to keep searching the 'net and hopefully I'll find a set that someone has on a shelf that they forgot they had.

Don't go by specfic model. You need a 6' board. Then adapte the mounts as needed for your truck.

What he said.

I am always picking them up at swap-meets, yard-sales, and the like, some even given to me.

It is a simple matter to make them fit trucks different to what the box says.

Look at the lower body area of a ten-year-old truck that has always had boards, and compare it to another truck that never had them, and see which one still has all of it's paint.

The boards really deflect a lot of rocks and road debris.
