1990 d350 to 89w250 cab swap question.

Postby Richie O » Fri May 30, 2008 7:44 pm

I will be (at some point) putting a 1990 cab from a 2 wd 1 ton on my 89 3/4 4x4. Is the tranny hump the same or do I need to cut out my old hump and install in the 90 cab???

It depends on the transmissions that were in each of the chassis. As an example I have two 1989 DRW D350's with different floors. The five speed has the same floor as the 4WD and the automatic version looks like it has the 1/2 ton 2WD floor.

I see,, The 89 w250 is an auto and the 90 d350 is also an auto. So it sounds like they may be diffrent.

The 4x4 auto has a different trans hump than a 2WD auto does. The trans hump is the same on 4x4. It doesn't matter if it was a stick or auto.
