Help for faded / chalky paint?

Postby KRB64 » Fri Jul 11, 2008 3:04 am

My hood and roof paint or clearcoat has gotten dull and chalky. Is there any fix other than repainting?

I'm not big on washing & waxing my vehicles for looks. I just wash the salt off as much as possible and run it through the car was every now and then.

Any thing I can do to revive the shine? I'm talking the easiest route possible here. Like I said, I worry more about how it runs than looks but I don't want to lose my body either...

other than painting .... spending 8 to 10 hours cut polishing it with a high speed polisher and course wool pad .....

assuming the is thick enough and in decent enough shape to be polished .

but your probally better off spending your efforts in repairing the body and preping it to be painted .
