I was thinking about mounting a small chassis CB in that empty port beside the raido, i think you can just punch or cut it out, I think that would be an ideal place for one, thoughts?

Hey, I had the same prolbem you did with where to but it. I ended up mounting it to my roof. I liked it there. As long as you go slow you wont go through both layers of metal. Its really not hard. Just make sure you have enigh wire to go from the cb all the way down to your cig lighter...you have to run the wire down the headliner and down the side of your windsheild, under your dash and to the cig lighter. Hope that helps. If you have any questions feel free to ask

Will post pics of mine later, but I built a shelf across the cab above the windshield and have a cd changer, cb and enough room for some paperwork, and the air switch for my airhorns.

'91 standard cab and I am 6'5" tall and have no problems seeing the road. Took me about an hour and a half to make. Will take pics and dimensions and post.

I've used a Shelf-it overhead console to hang my radios off of, in 2 Fords, and both 2nd Gen Rams. There is one that will fit the 1st gen as well. Works great, and NO drilling required.

I can't put a CB there, that's where my rifle goes!
