club cab

Postby T.winegar » Sat Sep 20, 2008 3:29 pm

i want a club cab for my friends to be able to ride with me instead of on top of each other in the single cab.

my truck is a 250 89 cummins with a single cab.

what would i have to do to either build a club cab and put it on the back, or swap the cabs with another truck??

possible???

Take a look at the shape of your frame and then look at one on a club cab. They are different, so it isn't a simple matter to just change cabs and use a short box. Shadrach

i would modify a sleeper or something... cause thats a big deal, you'd be better off buying a different truck.

coming from the guy that wants to do a 4wd conversion  lol

If you can stand to lose some bed space, get a McKinley conversion. Basically, they make your standard cab into a crew cab, but keep the bed in place. It looks like a cowboy sleeper from the outside, but it goes into the front of the bed. I'll see if I can find a link. There was a write up in the TDR about it a few years back. Only drawback is, they cost about $3000.

I got a club cab swb you can buy for parts ;)

Have you ever been in the back of a club cab 1gen??? I wouldn't make any of my friends ride back there, and I sure as hell won't be. I am only 6'1" and I feel smashed back there. The only thing that space is good for is hauling more tools and goodies or pets and little kids. Be kind and get a crew cab, the swap is just as easy anyways. 8) .

A sleeper topper is the way to go, if you don't mind losing bed space. I got one with a door in the back between the seats. Now all the fricken thieves have to do is break the door glass to get my tools etc...
