Looks like he has some 19.5's on it right now. Those Rock Stars are gonna look sweet. I am a big fan of black wheels, had a set on my 08 Hemi before I sold it.

Snoot, what's the weight rating on those rims? There was a little discussion on TDR or someplace about those rims, and it was all crickets after I asked that question. :?

No crickets here... I do not hall much in the back and I never tow anything. I drive my truck to and from work.

If I am going to hall or tow I will toss the street tires back on these are my winter tires and wheels..

I am going to pre-warn some of you .. I think I have this all worked out now but its not as simple as 123 to make these wheels work on a 1ST GEN.

I dont like to jiffy rig stuff I just like it done right the first time.

The 5/8" studs and there length on the rear are the biggest problem. The wheels fit and you can buy lug nuts that work but your studs with the wheels all installed will be to short.

I really thought about this a lot even went to other boards to see what others did. Most if not all people running after market wheels and larger tires are using wheel spacers. I really did not want to go this route so I made more phone calls even talking to the people that make the spacers and there safety record.
After talking with the manufactures I asked several others on the boards what there thoughts were. No one has had one fail from the US manufacture I was considering. They have been around for 20 years.

So I am supose to get my adapters/spacers in the next day or two. They will be a custom set and after I am happy with them I will post who made them and a give my impressions of there work.

Not really a lot of options for making this work I just want you all to know this is kind of a PITA.

In the end I sure hope its worth it.

The only problem with wheel adapters depends on how thick you go and the width/offset combination of the wheels for steering purposes. If you get the wheel centerline pushed out far enough it will increase front tire scrub in turns to the point of negatively affecting steering response.

The other thing I'd worry about is bearing load on a 2wd front. The 4x4 Dana 60s are not even going to notice the difference in the range of 1"-2", but I woudn't go much thicker than that.

I've had 1.25" adapters on mine since spring this year. They put the outside sidewalls right out flush with the fender flares and allow 34" tires to clear lock-to-lock up front at full compression with only 3" of lift. Like you said and what I found the same, it's about the only way to go for anything really nice in a tire/wheel upgrade for the 1st gens, just be aware of the implications.
